REMEMBERING...HOPING....KNOWING.....

Today marks another anniversary of one of our countries most devastating tragedies. September 11, 2001. A day that the majority people I know can remember exactly where they were when that tragic news surfaced. I myself, was preparing to get ready for work with the television on. All of the sudden, the shock and pain I could hear in the news casters voice had me running from the restroom mirror to get a better understanding of what was going on. Immediately, tears fell from my eyes. The thought of it being a hoax, or some type of movie script was my first thoughts. Only to realize, this horrible moment was real. Now, 11 years later as we continue to heal - that moment in time will constantly be relived in many. For those nearly 3,000 that lost their lives, those families live with it daily.

Today, we REMEMBER those lost on that tragic day. We REMEMBER the families that have been affected, that continue to live and heal. Today, we HOPE for the days we are living in. We HOPE for our future that what we have learned. That it encourages us, not only to heal but to live a better life. Today, we KNOW the dangers that are possible. We KNOW that hatred exists, but we also KNOW that together we must stand strong and together we must push forward as a people, as a nation!

We Remember, We Mourn, We move Forward.....yet, We will NEVER forget! God Bless those lives lost, and the families. God Bless our Country..... GOD BLESS US ALL!

TROJANS TAKE OVER MANHATTAN!

What better way to start off the first road trip of the season, than a trip to the Big Apple! I always love my visits to New York, but this go round' was a bit more special. I could not believe how many Trojans made the trip. I felt as if the inside of the MetLife Stadium store that shares Jets and Giants merchandise was missing a section designated to the USC Trojans. Despite the weather delays and evacuations at the stadium, the game day win of USC 42 and Syracuse 29, put everything back into perspective. Energy was high, and the Spirit of Troy was definitely in the building ( a sea of cardinal and gold flooded the arena) Actually, it was all over Manhattan and New Jersey too! lol

I must admit, it wasn't all about business though. I did take a few moments to enjoy some of the NYC scenery. One of my favorite places to go when I'm in NYC is Central Park. You can get it all there. Enjoy people watching, eat, talk to random people or just find a place of solace and enjoy some quiet time. All in all, the quick trip was pleasurable one! Sorry we didn't leave their Syracuse fans happy (well, I'm not that sorry...lol) but, I'm thankful NYC showed us a great time!

LABOR DAY...

A day in the sun, A day with Family, A day of Laughing and Love!

Well, what better day to start a new blog than the holiday that ends summer and kicks off the fall season. We go from vacations, school being out and summer weather to what I like to call "Back to the Grind Time!" The plus side to what seems to be kind of a downer of a slogan is ...we get Football and Basketball soon after. (Yes, Yes I know there are other sports too, but hey... I'm all about the two that I mentioned. lol) Well... There isn't anything in particular that I'll be talking about each day. It will just be  me being me. Random living experiences with a definite hint of laughter and hopefully some insight that you can take with you and share with someone else. With that being said... there is no need to hold on to your hats people, because the ride probably won't be that bumpy (HA!) - but it will definitely be a little quirky and interesting- which I hope brings a smile to your face.

Welcome to my world, as I share a little bit about myself, my thoughts and those I encounter. It's just "A Day in the Life, of Nikki Nichelle!"
